Right now in science we've got our own little ecosystems going on. Four teams each had their own mini-ecosystem that included biotic and abiotic parts. Sadly, some of our fish have passed away due to a parasite called ick. We made the interesting observation that our gold colored goldfish are all doing fine, but the white colored goldfish did not make it. Our class is wondering if the color of the fish made them more likely to get ick. While we are sad that three of our fish died, it helped us understand food chains and the effects parasites can have on other living beings.
