It's Okay to be Nervous

In two days we will be right in the middle of our new adventure at Bear Creek! It's very exciting, but it's okay if you're a little bit nervous about everything. To be honest, I'm your teacher and I am a little bit nervous! We're all coming from different schools and used to doing things in different ways so it's going to take a little bit of time to get used to doing things the new way. That's okay. We'll help each other out, laugh at the silly mistakes we make (just wait - I'm sure to forgot SOMETHING!) and have lots of fun figuring out a new way to go through our day at Bear Creek.

One thing that might help you feel a little less nervous is knowing our schedule. It looks like this:

8:30 - 8:55 ~ Arrival and homeroom
Kids must arrive at Bear Creek by 8:50. I recommend getting there a little earlier because our homeroom goes to our specials at 8:55.
8:55 - 9:40 ~ Specials
9:40 - 9:45 ~ Bathroom Breaks
9:45 - 11:30 ~ Comm Arts - this is broken down into three different blocks of lessons and work time
11:30 - 12:10 ~ Social Studies
12:10 - 12:40 ~ BEAR time (clinics, music lessons and other activities will go on during this period)
12:40 - 1:25 ~ Lunch & Recess
1:25 - 3:30 ~ Science and Math with Miss Fraser and Mrs. Kimmel

Our first days are going to be very busy with locker practice, tours, games to help us get to know each other, and learning the routines of our classroom. But I promise we will have a lot of fun, too.

So don't worry - it's okay to be nervous. We're all in this together, and we'll figure things out so we will have a great year at Bear Creek!! :)
